Context - Why Project USEr?
Project “USEr” was originally driven by the need to upgrade our technology platform due to end-of-life support for Adobe Flash technology on December 31, 2020. After that date, it is unlikely that the current platform will work on any browser. We began planning for the project during the summer of 2019 and saw it as an opportunity to make major upgrades to our platform in the conversion process by focusing on being User Centric, Secure, and Efficient. Thus, the name of the new platform. The URL is https://app3.somnoware.com/.
Recommended Process
To prepare for a successful transition, we recommend the following:
- Pick a transition lead that can be the expert on the transition and assure that your site makes the cut over successfully
- Start familiarizing yourself with the platform now. You can go to https://app3.somnoware.com/ today and give it a scan using your current user name and password. You can also download some Quick Start Guides and a User Manual from our landing page
- Block of time in your schedule to train staff and physicians in late October or early November (before Thanksgiving) to give you and your staff enough time to get up to speed on the platform
- Bookmark this page which provides access to training materials and training schedule and other up to date information on transition
Technical Specifications
A few technical items to be aware of:
- No data migration will be required as both platforms are built on the same database. During your transition period, you can switch back and forth between the two platforms as needed to get your work done
- The key supported browsers for the new platform are Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Specifically, Microsoft Internet Explorer will not be supported as it is no longer well supported by Microsoft and thus had both usability and security issues
- We will put a redirect in place on December 31, 2020 so that you will no longer be able to access the current app after that date
